Kanda River System(神田川水系)

Kanda River is a river that flows through central Tokyo for about 25 kilometers.
Rising near Inokashira Park in western Tokyo, it winds eastward before joining the Sumida River.
Along its course, it is joined by several tributaries, including the open waterways of the Myoshoji River and the Zenpukuji River, which still flow above ground through residential neighborhoods and green corridors.
Historically, the Kanda River supported daily life and transportation in Edo-period Tokyo, while today it reveals how rivers and tributaries shaped the city’s landscape and urban development.
