Nikkaryō Irrigation Canal（二ヶ領用水）
The Nikkaryō Irrigation Canal was an agricultural waterway built in the early Edo period.
Drawing water from the Tama River, it supplied irrigation to farmland across what is now Kawasaki City.
Its name comes from the two territories it once served: Inage and Kawasaki.
Construction began in 1597 under Koizumi Jidayū and was completed in 1611.
At the same time, he also oversaw the construction of the Rokugo Irrigation Canal on the opposite side of the Tama River, making the two canals closely connected in both their history and purpose.
Although the Nikkaryō Irrigation Canal has largely lost its original role as an agricultural waterway, parts of it still carry water today.
Its surviving channels, historic structures, and waterside paths offer a glimpse into the history of water management and the landscape that helped shape the development of Kawasaki.
